India Dominate Timore-Leste In The Final Preliminary Round Game At The 18Th Asian Games Invitational Tournament, Test Event Road To Asian Games 2018

Bengaluru, 12th February 2018:  The Indian Men's team dominate Timore-Leste beating them 145-50 in the final game of the preliminary round at the 18th Asian Games invitational Tournament 5x5 Basketball Test Event Road to Asian Games 2018 being held in Istora Sanayan Hall, Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, South Jakarta.

 

India dominated the game from the beginning taking a 30 point lead in the first quarter itself which kept on growing further. Head Coach Rajinder Singh gave more playing time to the bench in this game which actually turned out to be a good decision as the bench contributed 91 of the 145 points scored. India had nine players that scored in double digits. Ravi Bharadwaj lead all the scorers for India dropping 18 points, Anil Kumar, Issac Thomas and Kasi Rajan each contributed 16 points. Soares Pinto Gilberto  of Indonesia lead all the scorers in the game with 22 points of his own. India has qualified for the finals and will play Indonesia in the Finals on 12th February at 19:00 Hrs (17:30 Hrs IST).  India had a 11 point victory over Indonesia when they last met in the preliminary round of the this tournament.
