Bengaluru, 10th February 2018:  The Indian Men's team record their first victory beating Indonesia 66-55 at the 18th Asian Games invitational Tournament 5x5 Basketball Test Event Road to Asian Games 2018 being held in Istora Sanayan Hall, Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, South Jakarta.


Indonesia gave a tough fight to the Indian team until the third quarter where India only had a one-point lead. But India took away the game in the final quarter of the game outscoring Indonesia 20-10. India's Veteran Point Guard Joginder Singh led the team with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists which included five 3 pointers. Aravind Annadurai(16 points) and Satnam Singh(11 points) continued their scoring consistency. Avan Seputra of Indonesia lead his team with 13 points. India's third game is against Timor Leste on 10th February at 19:00 Hrs (17:30 Hrs IST).

 The Indian Men's team lost 72-79 in their first game of the tournament against Thailand. Thailand started strong in the first quarter of the game taking a 13 point lead and continued the lead throughout the game. India tried pushing the lead back in the third quarter of the game making it a 7 point game because of the valiant efforts of Forward Aravind Annadurai who led the team with 27 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Thailand stayed strong during the final minutes of the game and ended the game with a 79-72 score.
