The South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Qualifiers is the biennial regional qualification round to the FIBA Asia Championship. There have been five editions of the qualifiers so far. Participating teams include India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Afghanistan. The general tournament structure is round robin league. The winning team from these qualifiers participates in the FIBA Asia Championship. India has been a regular SABA powerhouse and is the reigning champs of this region. Other teams like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Afghanistan are also strong competitors.
